****Please note we cannot process repeat prescription requests over the phone. Please either use the econsult service via our website homepage or drop in a written request to the surgery.****
****Owing to the number of requests being received we are asking patients to provide 7 days for us to process a prescription rather than the usual 2 working days.****
****We are offering face to face appointments as well as telephone consultations as such if you wish to see a GP for a consultation please do let the reception team know when booking your appointment. Please note a GP may still ask to see you face-to -face following a telephone consultation if they deem it appropriate.****

EConsult

Please note that with immediate effect St Thomas Surgery will no longer be accepting clinical eConsult requests.  Admin requests will continue to be accepted via the platform. 

Admin requests are deemed to be queries that do not require medical advice, diagnosis, or clinical decision-making.

Examples include:

  • Requests for fit notes (sick notes) after the first 7 days
  • Repeat prescription queries
  • Medication change requests previously agreed by a GP
  • Update of personal details (address, phone number)
  • Test result enquiries where results have already been reviewed by a GP
  • Submission of blood pressure diaries where requested by a GP
  • Appointment cancellations
  • Request for letters or forms
  • Registration queries

Patients should no longer use the eConsult service for clinical issues including but not limited to:

  • New symptoms or health concerns
  • Worsening of an existing condition
  • Medication side effects
  • Mental health concerns requiring advice
  • Urgent medical issues

Patients submitting clinical information through the eConsult service will be redirected to the appropriate service, which may include:

  • Patients being advised to Book a GP or clinician appointment
  • Contacting NHS 111
  • Contacting Pharmacists under the Minor ailments scheme
  • Attending urgent care or emergency services where appropriate
