Adult Weight Management

The Hywel Dda UHB Weight Management Service (WMS) is available to people living in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion who have a body mass index (BMI) of more that 25kg/m2, are over 18 years old and would like to lose some weight.

The WMS offers a range of interventions and treatment pathways.  There are different factors including your medical history and weight management history which will affect what treatment pathway is best suited to you in addition to your preferences, and the appropriate treatment pathway will be agreed with you when you enter the WMS.   

Please note that if you have a preference for a specific treatment pathway such as weight loss medication or weight loss surgery, these can only be considered if you meet the eligibility criteria, and individual suitability will be assessed as part of your treatment within the WMS.
