Veterans are entitled to priority access to NHS hospital care for any condition, as long as it’s related to your service.<\/p>

As\u00a0veterans you are entitled to priority access to NHS hospital care for any condition, as long as it’s related to your service. When leaving or having left the armed forces, you will have been given\u00a0a summary of\u00a0your medical records, which you will\u00a0need to\u00a0give to your new NHS GP.\u00a0<\/p>

As Veterans,\u00a0we encourage you to tell\u00a0your new\u00a0GP about\u00a0your veteran status in order to benefit from priority treatment if needed.\u00a0<\/p>

The primary aim of Veterans\u2019 NHS Wales is to improve the mental health and wellbeing of veterans with a service related mental health problem.The secondary aim is to achieve this through the development of sustainable, accessible and effective services that meet the needs of veterans with mental health and wellbeing difficulties who live in Wales.<\/p>

Eligibility\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Any veteran living in Wales who has served at least one day with the British Military as either a regular service member or as a reservist who has a\u00a0service related psychological injury.<\/p>

Access\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Veterans and Professionals who work with veterans who live in Wales are able to refer directly to their individual\u00a0local health board by completing the on-line submission form on the Veterans NHS\u00a0website<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>

Veterans and Professionals wishing to self-refer by paper copy should complete this\u00a0‘Referral Form<\/a><\/strong>‘\u00a0and post to their relevant Local Health Board.<\/p>

West Wales Action for Mental Health (WWAMH) is a mental health development organisation.<\/h4>

The organisation provides a range of services to voluntary groups, carers and individuals who have used or are using mental health services and living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire.<\/p>

They are currently involved with over 100 local groups<\/strong> advising on such matters as fundraising, training, local forums, planning and information technology.<\/p>

WWAMH offers\u00a0practical advice and support for Mental Health organisations\u00a0<\/strong>to develop new ideas and improve your services.<\/p>
